HAKAWATIEH (STORYTELLER): Reem Talhami
Reem Talhami is a Palestinian Artist, Based in Palestine. Majorly involved in the Palestinian cultural performing arts scene as a leading singer and actress . Reem had her Bachelor degree in music and voice from the Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem. Despite her western classical academic studies, her repertoire includes traditional and contemporary songs as well as sound tracks for theater productions and films. Her voice has been released in 4 Albums both locally and internationally; “ASHEKA” (Woman in love) / washem band 1994 , “BISALAMAH” 2008, “YIHMILNI E LEIL” (Carried by the night) 10 songs for Gaza, 2013 and “ANNILHOUB” ( About love) , A collaboration with the Swiss Choir Chur Inter Kultur and the AUB choir , conducted by Fortunat Frulich 2018. Among her roles in music theater, Reem has played and sang the role of the king`s mother in Moneim Adwan`s opera Kalila Wa Dimna presented by Festival Du`aix in France,2016, as well as the role of Kheil (mare) in Kheil Tayha presented by YES theater in 2014, and rewarded as best Arabic play in the Arab theater festival in 2014 . Among her work in theater : Jidariyah (Mural) by Mahmoud Darweesh 2004, Blood Wedding by Lorka 2006, Half Sack of Bullets by Kamel albasha 2010 ,The Sea Is West by Nizar Zuabi 2015,All my sons by Arthur Miller 2011, Gertrude in Following the footsteps of Hamlet by Shakespeer 2010 and Green Salt by Alaa Suleiman in 2019 where she was rewarded as best actress in the Palestinian national theater festival 2019, and Milk by Bashar Murkos 2022.
DALYA: Shaden Kanboura
Shaden Kanboura ,34, is Palestinian actor and acting coach. She is a co-founder and ensemble-member of Khashabi Theatre in Palestine. She worked with various theatre companies throughout her career, with her most recent theatre appearance in “Milk” by Bashar Murkus at the Avignon Festival. Other notable appearances include "The Father" by Florian Zeller,Aljawal Theater. "Behind the eyes" Haifa Theater. "Salty Roads" Gorki Theater-Berlin. "Cabaret" khashabi theatre.-and more.Shaden’s film work includes; “Bar Bahar” winning her an Ophir award for best actress in 2017. “A Gaza Weekend”, “The Taste of Apples is Red” both premiering at Toronto international film festival 2022. “Mediterranean Fever" nominated at the Cannes International Film Festival .“ Our Boys” HBO. “Love life and everything In Between- Kazoz” Netflix. - and more.
SALEM: Saleh Bakri
Saleh Bakri is an award-winning and acclaimed Theatre and Cinema Actor who participated in many Palestinian and international projects.
Moving between cinema and theatre, some of his notable works was with Juliano Mer Khamis on The Death and the Maiden by Ariel Dorfman in Haifa, and with Mohammad Bakri on A Day In Our Life by Sa’ad Alla Wannus, and Fireworks by Dalia, and TAHA performed in The Royal Court Theatre of London. In cinema he participated in Wajib directed by Annemarie Jacir, The Time That Remains directed by Elia
Sulaiman, and Costa Brava Lebanon directed by Mounia Akil. He was also featured in the short film Bonbon on Netflix, and his last film The Blue Caftan was directed by Maryam Touzani and selected to Cannes film festival in 2022.
FATHER: Amer Hlehel
Amer Hlehel is an Actor, Playwright and Director. His several scripts include internationally acclaimed “TAHA” (Best Production- Asian Arts Award- Edinburgh- 2017), “Lanterns of The King of Galilee” (Adapted from Ibrahim Nasrallah’s novel), and “What the Story is All About”. He appeared in the Royal Shakespeare Company, as Caliban in “The Tempest”; David Farr’s production at The Royal Court Theatre; as Truffaldino in “A Servant of Two Masters”; as Dr. Roberto Miranda in “Death and the Maiden”; and as The Soldier in Kafka’s “In the Penal Colony” at the Young Vic, and Diab in “Diab” (Best Actor and Best Solo-Performance- Masraheed Festival- Acco-2005). Hlehel’s film work includes: “Mediterranean Fever” winner of Best Screenplay Award at the Cannes International Film Festival- 2022; Al-Garib”; “Personal Affairs”; “The Idol”; “Amreeka”; and the Golden-Globe award-winning “Paradise Now”. Hlehel’s work as a director includes “What the Story is All About”, “Breaking News”, “Finding the Dream”, “Thanks”, “Prayer” and “Altagreeba. Amer's unique creative vision and long-standing reputation makes him the perfect Creative Director for the Animation, where he is responsible for directing the Voice-Over recording, and is in charge of imagining the overall world of the animation.
